Team BMS Factory RacingPocketbike racing found its birth on the road racing tracks of Italy and the Czech Republic. There are five major manufacturers of these race machines. The bikes are all similar in motor and frame, the differences reside in the details and finish. Pocketbike racing in the USA has flurishing roots in Florida and California and has now come to the Pacific Northwest. A noted point of interest is that the Oregon Motorcycle Road Racing Association (OMRRA) has recognized the Pocketbike as a racing machine and has added them in their racing program. April 2003 brought the first organized Pocketbike race to the Northwest. There were seven racers two of them children. Our riders found themselves racing in Oregon, Washington, North Carolina and Southern California. Our 2004 events extended to Alabama as well. While we encourage adult participation, our focus is on the development of young riders. We firmly believe that this environment is conductive to family involvement and family participation. We stress the ideals of fair play, confidence building, increased self-esteem, team camaraderie, safety, improving riding skills and good clean fun for the children. Every child on our team has the benefit of experienced adult coaching, interaction with children of this same interest in a low stress presentation. All our team members truly participate there is no sitting on the sidelines, favoritism and the like. As with any fledgling sport, a tremendous amount of focused energy and sponsorship is needed. We would appreciate an opportunity to show you our sport, introduce you to our riders and make pocketbike racing an interest of yours. Team BMS Factory Racing |
